FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What information is required to start an assignment?
Simply contact us with what you need an investigation / information on. Tell us the questions you have and want answers to. The preferred method would be e-mail. What do you expect the investigation to do. If surveillance of a person is requested, provide us a physical description and/or photo of the subject; addresses; vehicle information; time and place to start, plus the reason for the surveillance. ERIS will obtain courtroom quality video evidence of all pertinent activities and back it up with our experience and credibility.

Why should I hire ERIS?
How do we measure the number of years of solving cases, licensed as a PI for 15+ years at work. We are professional and experienced fact finders. When there is a question you need answered, we will help. Over 30 years of solving cases and finding facts is the main reason why. Honesty and integrity are the other reasons.

How quickly can you start an investigation?
24-hr notice is usually plenty of time. It's often possible to start a case immediately. Weekends are the busiest times and may require additional advance notice. We first need to gather all the facts and authorization forms before we can initialize the investigation.

How much does it cost to hire an investigator?
ERIS is billed on an hourly basis, plus a mileage charge. As a general rule, in remote areas, the rates are a bit higher. Before the case is started, a strategy is established depending on the circumstances and your needs. Once this plan is in place a budget can be established. Investigation services are payable in advance of the work being conducted. Payment can be made by cash, check, PayPal or money order.

How many investigators are used on a domestic surveillance case?
The number of investigators used depends on a number of factors. Basic surveillance on an individual from home or an uncomplicated work situation can be conducted by one investigator. More complicated scenarios, such as following someone, driving on city streets, from a high rise office building, or airport or hotel require an additional investigator. Other factors in which we may recommend additional investigators depends on the complexity of the case and the time frame in which you would like it completed. Of course an additional investigator increases the cost of surveillance, and this factor is also taken into consideration in arriving at your budget. Consider the fact that no law enforcement agency would ever conduct surveillance with less than two cars and few do that. For those investigations where expediency, moving surveillance, or a large geographical area are involved, multiple investigators my reduce the change of detection and cost to the customer.

Is my information kept secret?
Yes, any information submitted to us verbally, written, faxed, over the internet or communicated to us becomes part of the case file and remains confidential.

How is the investigation plan established?
Planning is often more important than execution. The better job we do of designing the investigation, the more likely it is to be productive and the more cost effective it will be. Because you initially know more about the subject matter than we do, we rely on you to assist us in developing the initial investigative plan. Between you the customer and ERIS Corporation, the questions asked and possibilities explored and limits placed and more, go into creating an effective investigative strategy.

Does ERIS offer Free Initial Consultations?
Yes, you can call us to discuss your concerns or questions with out obligation for up to half an hour.

What do I do once the investigation is set up?
During the planning stage of the investigation, we will discuss and determine how often and through what means you would like to be kept abreast of the progress being made. The preferred method would be mail to a address you are comfortable with. This allows the greatest flexibility for communications. Other than that you need not do anything else.

What will I receive at the conclusion?
When the investigation is completed, you will receive a "Investigation Report" that give the facts of the case, how they were developed, what physical evidence was recovered, and a timer line of how the investigation progressed. Copies of the physical evidence will be included with the Report, however the originals may be temporarily kept so that they may be transferred to the proper authority, lawyer or agency so that a "chain of custody" can be maintained.
